Holly Candle Shoppe lights up Battle Alley in Downtown Holly

Over the last two and a half years, the Holly Candle Shoppe has become a favorite stops for many shoppers in downtown Holly.

Specializing in hand-poured candle products of all-natural, premium soy wax made from American-grown soybeans, the Holly Candle Shoppe is now located at 109 Battle Alley.

With approximately 45 scents, from the wax to the jars, Holly Candle Shoppe products are all-American. Melting and mixing is done in-house, with hand-poured batches made daily.

"We use all-cotton wicks, and all of the candles are 100 percent soy, so they don't produce toxins," owner Holly Jablanski said. Aside from being cleaner, Jablonski said, soy burns at a lower temperature than paraffin, allowing her products to have a 30 percent to 50 percent longer burn time than paraffin candles.

"We're a green company," she said, adding that the Holly Candle Shoppe uses all environmentally friendly and biodegradable packaging with its products.

Through the shop's recycle and refill candle program, customers may return their candle jars, travel tins or other containers, and the store will clean and refill them with the fragrance of their choice at a great discount.

"It's our way to encourage people to reuse their containers rather than load the landfills with more waste," Jablonski said.

She also carries handmade votive and tea light holders and pottery made by local crafters, fragrance oils and aroma therapy products.

Holly Candle Shoppe is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
